Reforms to the workers compensation scheme are focused on:

• assisting injured workers to return to work
• improving financial support for seriously injured workers
• returning the scheme to financial sustainability.

The reforms are being introduced in stages.

All new claims are subject to the new legislation, with most existing claims being transitioned in 2013.
