Join us and other Return to Work (RTW) Coordinators to hear practical tips and information from industry experts.
At this workshop you’ll hear from Nick Economos, Phsyiotherapist and the Director of EmpoweRehab.
Nick will focus on the practicalities of assisting workers with shoulder or neck injuries to return to work. This will include a discussion about:
- the health benefits of work
- the importance of early return to work following injury
- neck and shoulder ‘mechanics’ and common neck and shoulder injuries
- shoulder and neck injuries in the community
- shoulder and neck treatment and management – what’s normal what’s not, what works and what doesn’t and tips on what you should look out for
- hand’s on treatment: is it effective, and for how long? When is enough enough?
- causes of chronic shoulder and neck pain and tips on what can you do to assist your worker to avoid it
- recovery trajectories for worker’s with shoulder and neck injuries and hints on how you should use this information to plan your workers return to work
- tips on identifying suitable duties for worker’s with shoulder and neck injuries
- tips on identifying ‘high risk’ shoulder and neck injury claims
- getting help – where to go and when
You’ll also meet Sharon Thomas, Customer Relationship Manager at Xchanging.
She’ll discuss common hidden RTW barriers, how they are caused, how to spot them early, what to do about them and how to not let these barriers derail the RTW process.
At this workshop you’ll also meet Acting Manager of the RTW Inspectorate, Ian Sutcliffe.
Ian will talk you through the latest trends in employer RTW compliance breaches and how you can avoid these same traps.
You’ll also hear about the latest RTW prosecutions and what this means for you as a RTW Coordinator.
Attending this workshop will help you build your return to work knowledge, give you a chance to discuss your return to work issues with experts and meet and learn from other RTW Coordinators from your area and industry.
